From Moulin Rouge, the roots of Burlesque and Cabaret dancing, to red velvet of theater curtains, to luxurious scarlet silks of an evening grown, to passion of red lace lingerie and feathers – all of this can be combined in a night of exotic and unique vintage entertainment under one theme – “Rouge”, which means “RED” in French.
Below are the dance performances that could be included in the program. The costumes will be change to the red color version to match the theme.
The most iconic French dance of all, performed in fabulous red & white ruffled cancan skirts!
FEATHER FAN DANCE
This very elegant dance with RED ostrich feather fans performed by 1-4 dancers in classic red cabaret costumes.
3-5 dancers dressed in long red lace qipao dresses, red satin gloves and black feather boas, dancing to a Quincy Jones’s tune “Blues in the Night”.
In style of the extravagant Paris cabaret, 3-5 dancers dressed in glitter and feathers will sure impress the audience with their high kicks and flamboyant costumes!
This is a very exciting and energetic dance from the 1920s – the Charleston! Performed by 2-4 ladies in RED satin flapper dresses (see photo above), kicking their legs and shaking their skirts to a 1920s Dixieland hit.
VINTAGE CHORUS LINE
Chorus Line was always one of the most popular opening acts throughout the 20th century music theater and cabaret entertainment. Moonglow showgirls will perform a synchronized dance routine choreographed to a typical 1920s tune, to set the mood of the evening. The minimum number of dancers is 3, maximum depending on stage size; best recommended option – FIVE dancers.
CABARET CHAIR DANCE / BROADWAY JAZZ
These two classic cabaret style dance performances were popular everywhere in Europe during the Jazz Age, combining sexy and playful in one act, and then moved to Broadway and cinema, known for this iconic style corset + top hat. This can be performed by 3-5 dancers, dressed in RED costumes (reference photo above).
MINNIE THE MOOCHER, THE SILVER SCREEN SIREN
Inspired by the silent early 1920s and 1930s films, this dance performance combines the essential expressive style of dancing you can see in those movies with a sexy costume and sensual teasing dance moves, as well as engaging the audience to participate by singing along!
This SOLO dance is what comes to mind when you say “passion” and “red”! Swirling of the skirt and the shawl, tap of the high heels and teasing gentle movements of the fan.
BALLOON POP TEASE
Nothing makes a party more exciting than balloons and pretty girls! How about both? Pretty girls dressed in red balloons, popping them while dancing to a cute catchy tune, and even letting the guests take a part in it!
In addition to dance entertainment, we have a fabulous singer Tallulah Chantease from USA. Her sexy voice and astounding beauty will not leave anyone untouched. She has a broad range of songs from vintage jazz to modern hits, and can use live accompaniment or a karaoke track.
We know everything there is to know about vintage entertainment! For example, we know that many cabaret venues and vaudeville theaters hired pretty girls to walk in uniforms among seated guests to sell cigarettes or cigars from a tray held by a neck strap. Often they would also carry many small items like roses, candy, snacks, postcards, or small souvenirs. We have the trays and the girls, and can also provide the souvenirs, if needed.
